How to know 100% You’re Going to Heaven

We are an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church located in Clementon with a heart to reach the world with the message of Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible clearly reveals the way to Heaven…

1. You must realize God loves you.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God loves you and has a plan for your life. His love is so great that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die in our place. The greatest way that a person could ever demonstrate love is to die for the one He loves. Jesus Christ because of His love died for you.
The Bible says in John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Now you may ask, why did Jesus have to die for me? Please read on.

2. We are all sinners.

Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.”
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Every single person who has ever lived apart from Jesus Christ is a sinner. We are sinners by birth. Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” We are all born with a nature that is inclined to sin. That is why we don’t have to teach a child to do wrong, they have to be taught to do right because they were born with a sin nature.
We are also sinners choice and practice. We all have done something in our lives is disobey God’s law. That is what sin is, it is when we break God’s law. The Bible says in I John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
What we need to realize is that God is a holy God and just God. The Bible says in Psalm 89:14 “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne:…”
As Judge of all the earth, (Genesis 18:25) God cannot allow sin to go unpunished. God is loving but He is also Holy. He cannot sacrifice His holiness on the altar of His love. Sin must be punished.

3. The bad news – there is a penalty for sin.

Romans 6:23a says, “For the wages of sin is death…” Sin comes with a big price tag – and the payment for that price tag is death and eternity in hell. Becuase of our sin, we deserve to die and go to an eternal hell, separated from God in heaven forever. This is not pleasant news, but it is the truth. The reason we share this with you is that we care and love you. The truth is that sinners must die and go to hell because that is the penalty for sin.

However, the good news is that Someone has already paid the price of death for us.

4. The good news – Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins.

Romans 6:23b says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth [showed] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
This is the reason Jesus died on the Cross. He died on the Cross so that we could be forgiven of our sin and go to heaven when we die. This shows us how much Jesus Christ loves us. He loves us so much that He humbled Himself and became a man so that He could go to the cross and bear man’s sin upon Himself. One of the most amazing verses in the Bible is II Corinthians 5:21. It says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Jesus Christ was made to be sin for us. In other words, Jesus suffered the payment for sin in our place. Jesus Christ did not cancel out or divert God’s wrath, He absorbed it. Jesus suffered every bit of God’s wrath on the cross. He bore our sin on the cross. This is why God can forgive us of our sin and still be just. Because, someone paid for our sin – Jesus Christ.
The Bible says in Romans 3:25-26 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
God can be just and justify those who come to Christ by faith because Jesus Christ has satisfied the just demands of a holy God by paying for sin Himself. He is our Substitute. We know that God was pleased with the payment because we read in I John 2:1 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” The word “propitiation” means satisfaction. God was satisfied with Christ’s payment. We know that He was because God raised Jesus from the dead. Christ is alive today and wants to be your Savior.

5. Personally pray and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.

Romans 10:9, 10 say, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raise Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness…”
Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Salvation is totally of God’s grace. Can I tell you that you need God’s grace? C.H. Spurgeon said that “there is no one too good who is outside the need of God’s grace and there is no one too bad who is outside the need of God’s grace.”
Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. None of us because of our sin, deserve heaven and forgiveness, but God is gracious and desires to give us forgiveness and eternal life.
But we must make a decision to trust Jesus Christ as our Savior by faith. Faith is just believing who God says that He is and believing that God will do what He says He will do. Hebrews 11:6.

Would you please by faith ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and be your Savior?

A Prayer of Salvation:

“Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for loving me even when I have not deserved it. I acknowledge that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am asking you by faith to please forgive me. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died, was resurrected from the dead, is alive today, and hears my prayer. I am calling upon Jesus to save me. Thank you for your mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

6. If you have believed the gospel with all of your heart and called upon the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, He has promised to come save you.

John 1:12 says, “But as many as receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
